Campground. After over 33 years in operation, we will not reopen for public camping
after this season concludes in October, 2013.
- 2013 rates:
- Full hook-up campers and RV's $35 base rate daily,
- Tents $22 base rate daily (1 tent, 2 adults & 2 under 13)
- Day Passes (noon to 8 p.m.) $4 Adults and $2 Children under 13.
- Check-in for camping between 2 and 7 p.m. Please see 2013 brochure for full
information and detailed price list.
- We can make reservations and take deposits via email although you may wish to
check availability first at the phone number above.
WillOaks Campground is a small, family owned and operated campground in a rural setting
one mile west of downtown Woodstock, Illinois, in the heart of McHenry County. Our 14
acre park includes 20 full hook-up sites (water, electric & septic) for RV's and Travel
Trailers, and rustic camping facilities for tents and pop-ups, all sited around a lovely and
clean one acre swimming & fishing pond. Our swimming beach is licensed by the McHenry
County Department of Health.
Restrooms are adjacent to the main office and include hot showers, running water and
flush toilets. Porta-potties are located in strategic places in the tenting areas, too. Wireless
Internet access is available in the RV area for a small fee.
Group camping and activity areas are available to rent as a location for parties, reunions,
weddings, company picnics, bonfires, and other day events. Scouts, church groups, and
other groups may organize overnight group camping with advance arrangements.
Activities in our park include hiking, nature watching, canoeing, fishing, volleyball,
horseshoes, half court basketball and a children's playground. Visitors may also purchase
day passes, good from noon to 8 PM, for picnics, swimming, fishing and just relaxing in a
beautiful park setting.
Our season is from May 1 through October 21 and camping reservations (click for form) are
recommended.
Our family moved to the WillOaks Farm in the mid-sixties and for many years livestock and
crops were the primary business on this land. In 1980, our father, Bud Stahlecker, began
to build the campground on what had been a grazing pasture. It was his retirement project,
since he loved to camp and we had always been a family of campers.
A creek was dammed to create the pond (which is also spring fed) and the full hook-up
sites were developed. The campground is still family owned and operated and is fully
licensed by the State of Illinois and by McHenry County
